Ronald Reagan - White House Portrait

”A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs, which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell numbers….. And if there are those that cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way.” – Ronald Reagan

Ronald Reagan supported the following fundamental principles: lower taxes to stimulate the economy, less government interference in people’s lives, states rights, and a strong national defense. These principles of common sense conservatism are still as effective and meaningful to today’s voters as they were during the 1980 presidential campaign.

As we pause in remembrance this February 6th, 2010 to honor what would have been Ronald Reagan’s 99th birthday, let us also pause to remember the “…strength, the courage, the integrity, the character, the warmth and the humor that made Ronald Reagan the quintessential American President.”  (Courtesy of American Thinker, “Remembering Ronald Reagan“)
